A walkthrough and tutorial on removing the mower deck from a Simplicity tractor.

There is always something to fix at Camp Chickasaw. This video explains the process of refinishing a 54 HD mower deck for a John Deere 425.

First time I’ve ever cleaned in the 1 Year I have owned. Didnt do to good of a job because I dont really use it but I just used a putty knife and some low pressure water.

I broke a bracket on my rider mower deck when I clipped a fence post while mowing. The bracket pulled a large chunk of the deck with it, not quite all the way off. Had to pound the piece back into the place with a mallet, tack and then weld back into place. Because the deck was painted black, I had some trouble seeing and following the crack to be welded, which made for an ugly weld. Ultimately, it worked out great as I made some additional adjustments to the deck and now it cuts better than before the break.

The exciting conclusion of our 50c mower deck refurbish. It was my first shot at using the HVLP gun, and it came out pretty decent. It was great practice, but better still, the mower deck runs smooth as silk and lays down a beautiful cut. If only 2 weeks straight of 105 degree temps hadn’t already killed off all my grass…..
